The Young Naturalists is a club for young people who have an interest in natural history and would like to learn more about the natural world in a practical way.
Young Nats

Junior Nats (ages 6 to 13)        Intermediates (ages 14 to 17)

Because "Young Nats" is a section of the Western Australian Naturalists' Club, we have access to experts in all aspects of natural history, such as plants, reptiles, insects, marine life, rocks and so on. So on our excursions we have scientists or specialists to help us find things and identify them as we explore the natural environment.

Coordinator:
The Young Nats coordinator for 2008; is Mike Gregson. Contact the club by phone on 9228 2495 or by email: wanats@iinet.net.au

Parents and grandparents are invited to join in the fun. Children and their parents can join as a family and take advantage of family membership that the club offers. Of course we welcome any parents who have expertise to help the children explore and learn on excursions.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS

Because of safety and liability issues, there are two things you need to be aware of:

1.  Parents or carers must always accompany their children on Junior Naturalists’ Club excursions.

2.  After one or two excursions, Juniors are expected to become members, either in their own right or as part of family membership, if they wish to continue attending excursions.
(You may need to check your current membership status.)

Membership

Juniors $30 each, Adults $60 each, Family $75

Application for Membership Form and Contact

Membership begins on receipt of form and payment.

Members will receive a monthly newsletter.

(We may form a separate Intermediates group later in the year if we have the numbers and the interest to do so.)

The Club Librarian has compiled a list of books of books suitable for Young Nats.
